What’s your Stoma called, and why?

In a previous thread we started a discussion on our Stoma’s outputs and the unpredictability of dealing with it.

This led to us sharing the names that we call them.

I thought I would be a little bit of fun to have a separate thread here.

Mines called Whoopi.

I was still unsure of it until I ate beans.

She then became a whoopee cushion.

Please share yours.

  • hi Blackstuff- when I had an illiostomy  (now have colostomy) to deflate the bag I pierced it with a sterile needle over the little square patch near the top of the pouch. This worked well. Only wind could escape. My colostomy not so windy. This also means you shouldn't have to change the bag due to wind.

  • I'd love to Three, only problem is I only have my phone and my IT skills are lousy.

  • What a shame! Still, maybe someone on here might take your ideas and make something, because the design sounds great! I'm completely useless!  x

  • I wish they would Three. I specialised in Illustration and I like to think Ostimates would find the imoji's fun especially as they  have names and their own characters and little quirks.

  • Well, let's throw it out there! Come on people, isn't it a fun idea?  Just a little help for a great idea!

i did graphic design and used to draw inks, paint watercolours and minimalist designs on iPad Pro  I used to love it but this has hit the inspiration out of me. I love the smiley with puffs of wind   Maybe I will be inspired again soon .

    With best wishes Ann

  • Okay,  I’ve got the iPad Pro the pencil and time. Just need a kick to get me going. Maybe tomorrow. Whoopi woke me this morning with a mess. My fault I stayed in bed too long too full and then I must be better because I rolled over on the right side. Whoopi, whoops a daisy did a whoopoo

  • hey that's great - and great you can sleep on your side. I couldn't for a couple of years. Eventually got used to sleeping on  my back.

  • Blimey. Two years that’s really tough. I am lucky then, I’m fine on my left as the most tender sides the right and she let me know this morning. Whoopi whooped me.
I will have a go at designing some emojis maybe.

  • I do hope you're inspired soon. This stoma business knocks the stuffing out of you and your head gets filled with so much stuff. I remember using pen and ink, and water colours are my preferred medium although I enjoy using pastels and pencil. I loved the course which included life drawing, typesetting, black and white photography, screen printing. When things settle a bit you'll get your creative mojo back. Best wishes back. Go Well.
