I'm not sure if this can be classed as a discharge or not! Thursday morning I noticed I'd passed a tiny bit of stool, I went in the bath and didn't think much more about it! Later, going for a wee, I noticed loo paper was marked, only a little bit, but it's happened each time I've gone to pass urine! The only way to describe it is skid marks! Apart from that, no problems! Does anyone have any ideas please?

Hi Moira (Three),
Yes it’s completely normal. I was told that I was likely to pass stool as there could be some left in lower bowel after my Lower Anterior Resection. Your bowel also continues to produce mucus even though nothing is passing through it, when this is discharged and can be a dark putty colour which looks like poo. It varies as to how often people pass this mucus some daily others every few weeks.
Obviously if it becomes painful or copious I’d speak to your team.
Good to hear there’s no other problems – long may it continue!
Best Wishes,
Janet (Net77)
