Hi All,
i am new to this community so please excuse any rookie errors.
i have had my stoma since November and have just completed chemo so am slowly getting used to how things work and looking forward to getting on with my life one small part of which is swimming, something i did regularly before 2019 hit me (heart attack Jan, cancer Nov).
Anyway having done a bit of research into possible products to help me get back into the water i have to say there doesnt appear to be much choice, most of the web directs me back to ostomy secrets which of course dont trade anymore so i was wondering what others have found suitable for a 53 year old man whilst floundering in the swimming pool.
Hi and welcome to stoma support and I'm pleased to see that you've settled into life with a stoma and have completed your chemo and now you are ready to face new challenges, you'll be pleased to know that there is nothing that you engaged in pre stoma that you can't get back into
I'm afraid that Ostomy secrets folded in the UK a number of years ago but other manufacturers have a selection of male ostomy swimwear and I take it this is the area you are looking to find.
CUI Swimwear
Comfizz swimwear

Respond Swimwear (unfortunately out of stock but for your information)

There is nothing to be ashamed of by getting your bag out when swimming but you can always wear a tee shirt in the water.
I have assumed at your concern is clothing all the above swimming shorts have a internal pocket to place your pouch into.
If you concern is based about what happens in the water and will my pouch burst. All stoma pouches are waterproof and only need a pat down when you come out. It is beneficial to apply an extra ring of flange extentensurers round your pouch before entering the water. You should conduct a full pouch inspection before going into the water and change pouch should you see the start of a leak
I hope this helps if you need further information please ask. I apologise for the large blocks of green unfortunately at this time I can't condense into a link.

By clicking on any of the green text above will open up new pages for you and will take you away from the Macmillan website.
Thanks for the quick and comprehensive reply, some interesting options in there.
Are you aware of any wraps similar to those that Ostomy secrets used to supply so that i could use my existing shorts
I can find what you are look for from Ostomy Secrets web pages for USA and Canada but unfortunately they don't ship to UK and even looking at my US Amazon account didn't throw anything up.
As you've probably realised that wraps have a different meaning in this country.
As I was about to close this response something stirred in my head and a recollection of a article that I read about Neoprene where someone had made wraps out of soft Neoprene material or scuba material and I wondered if this might be a solution you are looking for. Unfortunately I don't have the article but looking at this article https://www.google.com/url?sa=t&source=web&rct=j&url=https://www.sewingbeefabrics.co.uk/neoprene-and-scuba-fabric-guide&ved=2ahUKEwj3vLv13bbpAhVTPcAKHX_aBCIQFjAKegQIAhAB&usg=AOvVaw33L334a11B8Zc6asDzue2X&cshid=1589575576711
And a little bit of imagination you might have a swim band which will cover the top of your swim shorts and your pouch and I understand on ebay there is a very good range of colours and as there in no right or wrong way to wear the colours you will be unique.
I do have to be honest the article was a long time ago but my memory does recall the material being used a swim band.
Let's me know if you think this could take on legs and be a suitable product..

I've had my stoma since October and before my chemotherapy started I resumed swimming , Coleplast my stoma supplies provided me with a special belt to wear for support , but apart from that I wore my normal swimsuit , my stoma nurses told me to change my bag afterwards but I found the disabled toilet come shower room very cold and wet so I wrapped a small towel round the bag as I was getting changed then dried the bag and surrounding area with the low setting of the hairdryer, I did get a few looks but just explained what it is if people were interested especially kids
Take care
