Hi all,
I don't want to panic anyone.
If the UK went into lockdown would we still be able to order and receive our supplies?
My stoma supplier is saying to order as usual which is great but I am very worried if the UK went into lockdown, we would be without our supplies.
I placed an order 2 weeks ago and I am still waiting to for night bags which are not due in for another 2 weeks.
Please can anyone advise what to do?
Thank you and stay safe,
Hi Lisa
When do you ever panic anyone.
It is an ongoing problem that has been bubbling away since Brexit and is still simmering away with COVID-19 being with us.
It takes us a long time to find suitable pouches that work for us and tend not to think about what else is on the market.
I would suggest that you look at other manufacturers for their night bags and supporting accessories.
It is a nightmare finding alternative and to make it easy for you would you like to let me the products you are using manufacturer and ref no and I'll check the nurses product catalogue, yes, I've got the book with every ostomy products listed. And send you the compatible product details.
As your situation is getting dire, once you see something that will the bill get your GP to issue a new prescription on the grounds of product disruption.
It must be getting close to you doing a reorder so we need to act fast.
As always here to help at anytime

Hi Ian,
Thank you for your reassuring reply.
After I did this post I rang the stoma nurses who told me about another night bag that goes with my urostomy bag and she gave me the product code. I rang my stoma supplier and ordered them and they should be with me in the next week or so.
Do you know if the UK did go into a lockdown, would we still be able to order and receive our supplies? All the employees who work for my stoma supplier are working from home so they would be able to take the order but I am more concerned about receiving it. When I asked my supplier about this all I got was “we are working within Government guidelines”, so that was no use to me to anyone else. Fingers crossed people behave and it won’t come to a lockdown.
Thank you, take care with kindness,
Lisa
