Hi everyone
I received a letter from my surgeon on Saturday morning. He stated that my lymphocyte count is slightly low at 0.65. Does anyone have any idea what this means? I stupidly googled what lymphocyte cells do and it freaked me out! I’m due to go into hospital for surgery this Friday, and am now really worried about getting an infection that my body can’t fight!
Hi Jools63
I'm afraid I can't answer your question but I noticed that your post hadn't had any response yet.
As your operation is in a couple of days time it might be an idea to give the Macmillan Support Line a call on 0808 808 0000 and speak to one of the cancer information nurse specialists. It's free to call and they're available every day from 8am to 8pm.
Wishing you all the best with your surgery

Thank you so much for your response. I have since spoken to a Macmillan nurse, and attended my pre-op at my local hospital. They have reassured me that my surgery would not have gone ahead last November if there was any increased risk. Getting really nervous now for Friday. Haven’t met my new surgeon yet, but will meet before surgery on the day!
Hi Peacock62
Thank you so much for your lovely message. I’m really nervous now. Everyone who has already had their reversal have had such differing levels of problems. I’m most worried that my bowels won’t work e to the worry of not going home until they have! Daft I know. How is your chemo going? I really hope it’s not too tough. All the best.
Hi Jools63
My Chemo is going ok it's depressing thinking of the timescale but I just have to crack on with it . Severe fatigue and nauseous are my main symptoms but am pushing myself to do excersises yoga, walking and swimming, our Maggie centre is wonderful and have been a great support to me . I fully understand your apprehension about the reversal I feel the same , if you look at my post on the Bowel cancer group , I think it's titled , I don't understand about CEA markers there are some really positive replies about the reversal op from Nicky nosher and Jersey Lily. These have helped me get a grip . Well I really hope it goes well sleep well tonight
Sending you positive vibes for the op

Sorry your reversal must feel like such a long way off. I was really grateful not to need chemo after surgery. Good for you being so active. I can’t wait to start a new class or two! My reversal is going badly unfortunately. I was very swollen so have not been able to eat or drink yet. Hospital didn’t administer a drip after my op so I’ve become really dehydrated! No longer on oxygen, but can’t wait to get the drain out of my nose. Can’t get dressed because of the tubes. Waiting to see the consultant today to see if I’m getting better. Keep up with your fitness, and your positivity. Xx
Hi Jools63,So sorry that you are not feeling good post op.I hope your abdomen will go down soon and that you will be back to eating & drinking. Those nasal tubes are no fun at all, hope that can be removed soon.Sending love and best wishes for a good and quick recovery.Love Jane xx
