mucus after chemoradiotherapy

Hi there. My first post so please bear with me.

I was diagnosed with rectal cancer in April, undertook chemotherapy in the Summer, which I was told had not caused any reduction in the tumour size. I was then recommended to have a stoma prior to chemoradiotherapy which happened in October and has been fine. My chemoradiotherapy finished this Monday - hurrah!!! I guess its now a 6 week wait for the next scans and hopefully some good news prior to surgery.

My questions are:-

Has anyone noticed an increase in the mucus coming from the rectum during the radiotherapy?

Does it start to reduce at all in time?

How do you cope with it, given I seem to be producing a fair amount very regularly.

Do you use pads and if so,, any recommendations?

Thanks so much for any replies.

I'm just on 2nd week of chemioradiotherapy and already have reduced mucus and I use male incontinence pads made for urinary incontinence but used back to front they're fine.
