Any recommendations of Ostomy supplies companies?

Hi, I am so sorry to hear that you're experiencing a few issues with your current supplier so I thought that I would Respond with my comments.

In my time as an ostomate I have used all the supply companies (I've even used Boots the Chemist) and you would think that they would all give the same level of service but like you I've come across one that just did not come up to my expectations.

I have been using SECURICARE MEDICAL for quite a number of years now and I am more than happy with the service I receive month after month after month. The only time there is a problem is when the GP is slow in issuing the prescription, but as I can check the issuing on line, if I see a delay I start to make noises to get it back on track

My method of ordering is

Send my request online to Securicare 

Who fax my request to my GP

GP sends the prescriptions back by EPS 

Securicare confirm my delivery date

On the morning of delivery I get a text with my 1 hour slot for delivery

Unpack the box 

Timescale e.g. ordered last Tuesday Delivery will be with me Tuesday coming which I think is excellent service.

Depending on how you order if your current supplier is your nominated supplier with your GP you will need to contact the surgery to have it changed.

Unless local arrangements are in place by the CCG you can use any Dispensing Appliance Contractor that you want

Just a little update, the request I placed with SECURICARE last Tuesday the 5th they have just confirmed that I will receive it tomorrow and as usual I will receive a text in the morning giving me a 1 hour delivery slot.

I get SECURICARE to email my GP surgery with my request, this saves a few days in the post and with my GP using EPS they have the prescriptions very quickly.

You should, once registered, set up an online account to place your orders, again saves time if you normally post your request to R.
