The J D Wetherspoon pub chain has announced that it will be installing signage and training staff on the use of disabled toilets by people with hidden disabilities (like you) partly because of an email campaign and the bad publicity they received recently.

The campaign continues and this is an updated list of pub and restaurant chains that have signed up to install signage.

High street restaurants

NOT EVERY DISABILITY IS VISIBLE

Why use a disabled toilet -

They should be larger
They should be cleaner
Have running water
Have a mirror
Have a shelf
Have hooks

And as being disabled they should be able to accommodate a wheelchair, have an alarm system and grab rails.

If your place of work doesn't display signage and you would like some stickers to give to your employer please let me know and I will send you details of where to obtain stickers.

Don't forget your RADAR key and your Can't Wait Toilet card available from Macmillans and your stoma supply company.

You may prefer to use normal toilet facilities but it does make life easier if we can use a disabled toilet when needed and enjoy the "comfort"
