    dear bevelle
you're doing a grand job! You managed to post, and to answer a post, so that's a good start!! if you look on the left hand side, you will see several words in blue; if you click on search by tags, then follow the links, it will take you to all the breast cancer threads, although this one is excellent. have a play around and see how you get on!

    Hi Bevelle

As Sue has said, you have managed to come on twice now and that is great. This thread is called Breast cancer by Heatherann so if you always click on this you will find us.

There are about 16 or so of us on here now, all in various stages. Some just starting chemo, some, like me just coming to the end of it. Some have had ther ops and some are waiting to have them done.

Quite a few of the girls have had a mastectomy and some have had a double mastectomy. So there will be quite a few who can chat to you about various things.

I have had a lumpectomy and removal of the lymph nodes, so can't really relate to your circumstances.

If you read some of the girl's profiles you will see what stage a lot of us are at. It may be worth your while filling in your own profile so that the others can read what you have had done and what treatment you have had. It saves repeating yourself, if you can just ask someone to read your story.

I hope some of us can be of some help to you. It's good to talk to others who are in similar circumstances.

Look forward to you joining us again.

    Best wishes

Just a quickie as I am on my way out but know I will forget. Would you believe we had a head radiologist staying this weekend and she told me the best thing to use is Aqueous green and Aloe vera. She told me to start using it now before the radiotherapy xxxx

Hi Bevelle - welcome to the group. I'm sure you would rather not need to belong but the people on here are amazing! I'm still waiting for a double mastectomy and breast reconstruction. If you put something on your biography for us to read you won't need to keep repeating yourself and you can also read a potted history of everyone else too. Click on .... profile at the end of their posts and you will see what I mean. You will soon feel your way around.

I have to warn you - you have to be a little bit crazy - most people on here are addicted to food, drink and sex! Oh - so we are quite normal really!

    love, Wendy xx

    Hi girls (and boys..)

Welcome Bevelle. You'll find a lot of caring and stir crazy girls in here - and we even have some men looking in from time to time!

For the first time I have had chemo head. My memory is like a sift anyway, but this is something else!!! Yesterday and today :-(. Hope it is gone in the morning.

Went for dinner with hubby and Coral last night. We have a couple of pub carveries around here where you only pay £3.50 for the carvery, and it is lovey food. Then John dropped us girls off at the nearest pub to us. We had a nice couple of drinks (wine for me mostly). Picture my outfit: Tiger leggins, pink top with tiger motif, silver/black scarf with tiger pattern and high heeled tiger patterned shoes with zip up the front!! lol (I'm only 56....).

Have bought another couple of leggins, so need to find some occasion for them as well.

John will celebrate his 70th birthday next Saturday, as he could not have it on his birthday which was 1 July as so many of his kids/grandchildren had colds etc, so should not be near me. The kids are organising everything, so we have been told to sod off on Friday for them to make everything ready. We're planning on a BBQ, but need a plan B for the weather.

John is reading some books now by Stephen Booth, and the stories are located around the Matlock area of the Peak District, so we plan to find a nice B&B there for the Friday evening.

Having fish again today. Bought an aubergine today because they were only 50p and looked for recipe at BBC Food. Found "Pine nut-crusted fish burger on an aubergine and mushroom bun with peas". Have not got pine nuts, have not got Portobello mushroom (in fact, no mushroom at all), but I have the rest so will try as best I can :-)

Sounds like most of us are not to bad this weekend. Hope it stays like that for a couple of days.

    Love from Laila xxxxx

    Paula,

What should Aqueous green and Aloe vera be used for? And where?

    Hi Laila

Paula's gone to see Simply Red in concert tonight. Lucky devil!

I think it should be aqueous cream not green, but I may be wrong.

Anyway I was told to use either of these to rub into the area being treated by the radiotherapy.

Aqueous cream from Boots is just under £5 for a big tub. I use it at the moment to moisturise my feet and hands.

    Love Jean xx

P.S. How was the un-pine coated crusted fish without the mushrooms?? You are hysterical!!
