Jean & all other awake fellow sufferers,

I'm using aqueous cream on my bad arm, was told to use it every night by the study people, for doing lymph drainage. I massage it in 5 zones on my "bad" arm, stroking it upwards (towards heart). (Can explain more if you want to know more about it.) My cream costs ca £1.90 for big tub at Asda pharmacy from behind the counter - if you pick it up outside the counter it is ca £2.30!!.

Fish was very nice - did not have double cream either so used powdered parsley sauce granules with milk & water. Used fresh peas and did not cook/fry them long enough. Used challot onions instead of ordinary onion. Fried the aubergine with the garlic instead of baking in oven..... Apart from that it was very nice accompanied with chardonnay white wine. Hubby quite satisfied.

Have had a stiffish back today because of the white blood cell booster - hoovered my car and I could hardly stand up straight doing dinner after it. But recliners are not a bad invention for that sort of problem, is it?

I have to ask somebody to explain which area of my non-existant tit will be radiated so I can start moisturising before it happens.

Wanted to go out in the MX5 this afternoon - but the nice weather they predicted for the Manchester area today did not happen. OK, it has not rained all day, but was only sunny until about 10.30 this morning. So, back to office paperwork tomorrow - only thing you can use the rainy weather for, isn't it?

Hope you all have a good night.

    Lots of love from Laila

Hi girls, wow! Simply Red were amazing!!! He sang all his old songs, if you didn't know better you would have thought it was a cd he was so good live.
I was a very lucky girl as my friend gave me VIP tickets so we were able to drive in and out instead of having to queue with the crowds, we also had posh loos lol
I got a real boost as well, 3 people I didn't know told me how good I looked in my bandana, they didn't have a clue I was as bald as a coot underneath lol
Lailla your recipes crack me up. Jean I did mean cream and not green lol Lorraine, I was gutted you weren't nearer, I gave the spare ticket to my sons friend. Steff and Jean I hope the sleep is coming back now you are steroid free.
Hope everyone else is fighting fit xxxx

    Hi everyone,

Just a quick post, been busy!! Had a great time at the BBQ Saturday and yes I did manage to stay awake…phew!! Then spent the day at the coast yesterday. My 6 year daughter just wouldn’t get out of the sea!! Then we ate out last night and now Pete’s off for a couple of days so going shopping etc.

Paula Simply Red sounds fab :-)

I’ve loved catching up with all your posts and I’ve laughed loads, keep it up :-D

I wasn’t told to use condoms either!! How soon before Radiotherapy should you start to cream up??

I’ll chat longer next time, take care

    Hi Chelle,
I have just began week 3 of the radiotherapy and on the first day was given info that said I should have been rubbing the cream in for days beforehand! I have been using the E45 which is fine. I did by the 99.9% aloe vera but was told that it has a drying effect and not to use it till later on if I got moist sore skin.. i suppose we are all different though. All I can see is I feel worn out, I just sleep when I need to and just give in to it. I have been working about 6 hours a week around the therapy (only do 2 days) but that is just for my 'mental health' if you know what i mean..
At my center I have got a 2 hour feel good look good session booked for September where beauty therapists come in and make you up... plus last week was told that i am entitled to up to 4 complementary therapies, eg indian head massage... so that will be something to look forward to when the radiotherapy is over! I think that the tamoxifen is playing havoc with my head, was laughing today saying I must be turning into a man as I can only concentrate on one thing at a time... LOL.. really though, I feel like I am in a bit of a haze and I can't shake it off..

Hope you are all doing well
At least the sun has been shining today!
    best wishes to you all

Chelle great to hear you enjoyed and stayed awake at bbq - day on the coast sounds lovely too - 6 is a lovely innocent age and playing in the sea is great.

Caley sorry you are hear in the first place but believe me its the best move you could make - ive had up days and down days and theres always someone here who truly understands you and how you feel. Yes numb is normal - you may be waiting for it to hit you and become real but i dont think it ever does - it does intermittently and it doesnt feel nice so i tend to think about it then i cant answer the questions i am asking myself so put the problem in a box and lock it away at the back of your mind - the box only comes out on low days then it goes back again. Otherwise we would not cope with things as well. Have you thought of filling in your profile - like story of what has happened up to now and updating it helps others follow your journey and give advise. See my profile to see my journey. Do you have a date for an operation and what op do you need. There are lots of very funny upbeat but realistic people here to chat to and they really will help you. love stef x

    Caley,
Welcome, like Stef has said, this is the best place I have found to get some moral support. It is soooo numb to start with but if you get as much information and ask plenty of questions at least you will know what to expect. I have to say, I am not a great reader of books, but I went straight to our huge library and got 8 books out and read up, not all books were factual, some were quite amusing and light hearted which really helped.
Have you got an appointment soon? and a treatment plan?
You will have lots of friendly advice from many woman going through exactly the same thing...
Have a good nights sleep if at all possible!
    best wishes
