Well here i am again at 4.30 in the morning and i can't sleep yet again!! My husband Darryl has terminal small cell cancer and, at the moment is going through a really good phase. Which, i would have thought, would set my mind at rest and enable me to sleep. But no, here i am again having had 2 hrs sleep tonight wide awake with mad thoughts running around my head!! This is driving me crazy and i just seem to be on auto pilot all the time. Darryl is 44 years old and we have been given a prognosis of a 2-3 year life span for him. I can't seem to let go of this thought, and maybe part of me can't sleep because of that, as i feel if i'm asleep i'm wasteing precious time!! Darryl is sound asleep and resting well, and if i stay upstairs next to him listening to his breathing, i keep thinking is this the last time i'll ever hear that and end up getting so uptight and worried that i find it better to just get up again. So i wander round the house do a few chores, have a hot caffiene free drink and will myself to sleep all to no avail i might add!! hahaha surely i'm not the only carer who never sleeps, or am i????? any comments gratefully recieved. I guess all of you will still be in the land of nod after your wild hilarious night, I've been sweeping up loads of choccy wrappers all morning, Mother Hen Mel, did Juls really give you back that wet lettuce leaf? cos I swept up traces of that, too, you will just have to find another, my word you did have a party!!!!!!
Seriously, I hope you all had a good sleep and that all is well today, or should I say as well as it can be, lol!!!! speak later, got to do a bit of music theory, lol !!!

No, I managed to sleep through all the naughty giggles, thank you, dear chickie Karen....didn't find any money, are you sure you didn't put it away from all the others in your jumping about? We haven't much sun, it's gone all cloudy here....

Helen thank you so much for all the cleaning up you did this morning it was much appreciated and saved me a big job today!! lol I did try to keep the chickies in order but it just got a bit out of hand! lol
I know your all say i'm just as bad as you all but it was fun and i think we all had a good laugh! Well i hope we you all did as i certainly did so thank you all for that.
Onto today well poor Darryl had his first round of radio this afternoon and the poor man has been in alot of pain with headache and being sick! I have got some anti sickness tablets that he had when he had chemo and have given him one of those so hopefully will feel a bit better soon. We have tried paracetamol, and ibuprofen but they don't seem to be working for the awful headache he has, so gonna ask at the radiotherapy dept tomorrow if they can prescribe something a bit stronger. The poor man is laid up with this awful headache which came on a couple of hrs after Radio. If anyone has experience of radio to the head and can help with any suggestions for relieveing the pain for Darryl it would be much appreciated. Also, if anyone knows how long they last for after radio has finished? I just want him to be better bless him it's awful seeing him in pain again when he has been doing so well. I'm just glad for him that the radio is just for 5 days as i don't think he would cope with any more than that, it's made me feel so bad for him but i have been looking after him and cuddling him and stroking his head to help him feel a little better. Bless his heart, just wish i could do more. He has another round of radio tomorrow at 2.45pm then again on friday afternoon, and monday and tuesday, then next wednesday we see the onco again to see how Darryl is getting on.

Dear Mother Hen Mel, so very sorry Darryl had a bad headache after his Radio, think the best solution is indeed to ask when you go tomorrow, he can't carry on feeling that bad every day, poor chap!

Hello anyone who can help!!!! Have just rung emergency dr as darryl really vomiting bad!!!! They are ringing me back in next half to find out what i can do. I'm so scared i don't know what to do???/
please when will he feel better someone must know on here???????? I just need advice as i'm so worried i hate this my Darryl don't deserve this why is it so bad????????

HI karen, my saviour!!! Dr has just rung they are coming out to see him in the next hr!! I never expected this to be as bad i feel so useless!!
Hopefully dr will give him something to settle him for the night. This is so bad I wish i could do more i feel so bad about this!! What a crap time poor darryl is having i hate seeing him like this he's so pale iv'e never seen him look this bad it's so scarey i wish i knew what to do for the best i can't take his pain away and want to, but i don't know what to do either!!!
