Hi everyone

I am just trying to navigate myself around the site.  Still struggling, but thought I would try and make a temporary place for the WTBT folk as we are all wandering round like lost souls at the moment- don't know if this will work- but worth a shot while Mac try and resurrect the old thread

Love Ali xxx

Everyone is so amazing on this website. We are all having to confront the hardest thing life has to offer and yet there is so much support. I have read many posts, none of us have a choice, we all have to find a way to cope and get through our different situations. I can only allow myself to focus on today and be grateful he is still with me, he is in no pain and the tumours seem to have stopped him feeling any emotions. He doesn't dwell on what's going on, he's not sad, not happy, doesn't laugh, doesn't cry and loves his food!

Many have already lost their loved ones and my heart goes out to you all, I am so, so sorry. I cannot even begin to imagine what it must be like but I know that my time will come and only then will I be able to understand.

God Bless and I hope you are all having sweet dreams.

    Good morning to all,

It's a lovely sunny and warm day here in Newark, I do hope that applies to you all?  Fingers crossed that it signifies a bright, positive results day.

Hi Daisie,  the very best wishes to you and your husband.

    Regards to everyone,

But best wishes also from me for a good results day.

Evening all (well it is in Holland at least)

Thank you for the recent good wishes. Sadly the neurologist did not have the best of news for us this morning, so it is off to the oncologist next wednesday to see what he can do for Jan.

There is evidence of tumour regrowth, which on the physical evidence apparent was presenting as it did in June/July 2008, just found out a bit earier this time.

Jan remains in good optimistic spirirts, so the rest of us will have to as well !

Martyn - There is a false back to Mandy's cupboard, the empties are just a front to put us off..

Right uniforms to press and shoes to clean ready for the urchins' Carol Service this evening - no peace for the wicked eh?

    Best wishes all - Robin

That's indeed a bugger to hear Robin. I'm very sorry it was not better news.
But Jan is right. Stay optimistic.
She did  well after the second debulk - is a third possible perhaps? I hope your oncologist is creative - tell them to be if not.

Carol Service, maybe you need to pop into the guard's van later with Mandy's hidden stash? (Does everyone know about her hidden treasures?)

    Love and hugs,
    Miggins (Mrs)

Robin, that's not what we were wanting to hear, I'm very sorry.    However with both yours and Jan's positive outlooks, everything is probable eh?

False and Mandy aren't two words I would link in the same sentence,  she did stay with us overnight earlier in the year!!

    Best wishes,

    Martyn.

    Yin & Yan & Robyn

SORRY TO READ ABOUT THE LATEST SCAN RESULTS - what a bugger. Pete had his latest scan yesterday & we get results on 21st but I'm not optomistic. Have been reading lots but too knackered normally to post. I too have a bad back syndrome from lying on the couch for the last 4 wks as Pete now has a bedroom in what was our dining room. All the equipment to enable him to be home (hoist, commode, bed, table etc ) takes some lugging around & there is no point in me going on one of these lose a dress size for xmas diets as the weight is falling off from the sheer amount of physical exersion needed in moving him about. Agree wholeheartedly about the comments made re the loss of dignity & the way us carers cope. Never would I have believed that Pete would react so placidly & seemingly without emotion when his most basic needs are being catered for but we do it out of love & hopefully they know that deep down.

I'm pleased that the train is now gathering speed & is back on it's track. Well done everyone for staying with it & supporting all.

    take care

    Sue xx

Well it's been nice and sunny in Northern Turkey today although it is getting cold at nights now and we have to light a fire to keep warm.

Robin and Y & Y, So very very sorry to hear your bad news.

Daisie also sorry to hear about your husband and how he is at the moment.

CH I hope you are coping alright.

Suetoy, you are doing a wonderful job and I am sure deep down he knows.

Martyn, Sorry but couldn't get a visa for the belly dancer but it sounds like a party is going on so I don't feel so bad. Hope Doreen is doing alright and you as well.

Did you know that St Nicholas (Father Christmas) came from Turkey as did Tulips.

It's been a month now since my brother Tony passed and I am starting to feel a bit more normal at long last, so there is light at the end of the tunnel.

Sending a big cyber hug and lots of love to all you carers who are doing a tremendous job in looking after your loved ones and also some more courage to see you through the times when you are feeling at your lowest point. xxxxxx
