Hi everyone

I am just trying to navigate myself around the site.  Still struggling, but thought I would try and make a temporary place for the WTBT folk as we are all wandering round like lost souls at the moment- don't know if this will work- but worth a shot while Mac try and resurrect the old thread

Love Ali xxx

    Thanks Anne

my wife and I decided that if we what we have gone through could be shown through some pictures from when she was diagnosed to now some 4 years later and give some support to others from it, then it would be worthwhile - am currently going through other images which show the worst side of radio/chemo/steroids in the early days of 2008, and looking back from now so different.

A map showing where people are would be a good idea, maybe a separate thread could be started.

I am a member of the Wales Group, but from where I live in North Wales I can get get to London quicker than I can get to Cardiff

Hi all, A long time since I've posted but things have been a bit tough! Anyone in the North east who could do with actual support please get in touch.

We are facing our first Christmas and if I was alone I wud gladly climb into a hole and let it pass me by. However, our wonderful 13 year old daughter says on one hand that she is really looking forward to Christmas!! then because she couldn't find her dad's cd or favourite decoration she decided to throw a candle thru the window and scream and cry for nearly 3 hours, what do u do? it is just so heartbreaking. She is again positive about Christmas but is still shearing my bed and having nightmares about me baing taken away from her. Positive thoughts to u all. G lived five years despite being given a prognosis of 12 months and these were quality years so hang on in there and make the most of every day. This blumming thing won't let me create new paragraphs! anyway love to all specially oldies, Martyn, Debs Naomi, Julie, Julie, Sharron, Jmd ( a grerat extra!)Cathy, Pete Elaine and all newcomers. Love and strength to all. Ange xx

    Hi Guys

Tony woke me half an hour ago to pick up his iPhone (he must drop it 100 times a day) and now I can’t get back to sleep.

I’ve mentioned in previous posts about Tony’s personality changes and how I feel like I may have already lost him.  The last few days I have noticed that he has started laughing a lot. It sounds a bit daft to be mentioning it on here but a few days ago we had to call the paramedic because he pulled some muscles in his back and we couldn’t get him out of bed. She gave him gas and air and whilst laying there he started really laughing, a really big belly laugh. It was lovely to see and of course it’s infectious so before too long everyone in the room was laughing their heads off. We knew it was an effect of the gas so nothing unusual for the circumstances.

But now I’ve noticed he’s laughing all the time. I opened a Christmas card yesterday which had an amusing picture and caption on it and I thought he was going to have a heart attack he was laughing so hard and now he’s doing it all the time. He’s got such a hearty laugh too.  It’s lovely to hear it.

I’m not complaining, if I had my choice of symptoms this would be pretty near the top, I was just wondering if anyone had heard of this happening to others.

    Love to all.

    Pam

    Hi Pete and friends,

Just popped in to wish you all you wish yourselves, if that makes sense? Doreen not taking any food or drink now, she appears to be aspirating! Doctor just left with district nurse after putting 2 syringe drivers in place. The girls are on their way down from Rochdale. I think she's having us on again, this stubborn wife of mine? Maybe not this time! Love to you all. Doreen and Martyn XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX

Very good to hear from you Martyn, and hope that you manage to talk some sense into that gal of yours.

You both are in my thoughts and wish for peace.  If anything, it'll be good to have some family around you.

I've just had a work colleague visit me and we had a good chat.  He lost his wife to cancer a few years ago, so it's been good to share.

Tomorrow, I'm having an open day here and I have no idea how many people will turn up.  It'll be good to see the house full of some life again though.

Pam.  It's so good to hear of laughter.  If whatever is causing it is creating actual sensations of pleasure, then that can only be a good thing.

    Evening all,

Pete I hope the open day goes well and glad that you have someone who understands where you are coming from at work.

Martyn,  you do know its a woman's prerogative to change her mind at will......let's hope Doreen is just having you on again.  Much love to you at this time.

Well I am all dressed up, literally........ I have a dress on, I never usually wear dresses but this year I am breaking with tradition.  I wouldn't call it a little black dress exactly but its my new big black dress for Christmas lol  Makeup done, hair done, now waiting for hubby to get home and take me to the function room where our karate club is having their "end of year party & present evening"...... that's Christmas Party for us unPC brigade lol  I have to set up all the raffles (one adult, one children) and put the food out etc, then the rest of the evening I shall be hiding behind my camera while everyone else gets slowly drunk!

As Martyn, I wish everyone the best considering cirumstances we find ourselves in.

    Love & Strength to all.

Good evening all. Have a great evening Debs. If anyone deserves it, you certainly do.

Doreen seems comfortable and pain free, although I keep checking the driver flashing light! The girls are here and staying over. Doreen hasn't woken for 48 hours now. She may be just hibernating for this cold weekend? Ah well, another long night ahead, but that's nothing new for us passengers, is it? Thank you for your kind thoughts. Love and good wishes to you all. Doreen and Martyn XXXX
