Hi everyone,
we have found out today my wonderful daddy’s treatment is probably over, just pain management now.
i just can’t seem to take it in, I’ve been inconsolable all day, how do I stop feeling so angry and upset, I have a young toddler and want to be the best mom to her but I feel hopeless I can’t begin to control my saddness.
has anyone found chatting in person to a macmillan support person has helped?
I don’t know how to go through this, I just don’t feel like I’m strong enough,
Hello Ellap, I'm so sorry to hear about your dad. Two years ago I thought I was going to be widowed due to a complication after my hubby's lung cancer operation. I found it very beneficial to speak to the Macmillan support. Not that she could alter events but she was so kind and understanding and I felt relieved just telling her about it. Fortunately my husband recovered from that but had to start chemotherapy last year so I contacted Macmillan support again and received consolation and reassurance.
I’m really sorry to hear about your dad ️
I have found speaking to the Macmillan support helpful when I’m struggling to cope. It doesn’t replace speaking to a professional therapist, or other loved ones, but they can be helpful as a friendly ear. They’ll stay on the phone with you as long as you need, and listen, which can provide some form of release.
Whatever cancer throws your way, we’re right there with you.
We’re here to provide physical, financial and emotional support.
