My first post
This is a very rare cancer, and he is palliative care only as it has spread too far.
Only diagnosed in mid Feb, hasn't had any treatment yet because it's taken so long to diagnose exact type if cancer due to not being able to get decent enough biopsy samples.
Now awaiting another biopsy to send for molecular testing to find a targeted therapy best suited to the cancer type now found
We as a family are going out if our minds as is my boy who is 46 yrs old with a family if his own.
Thank you
Myboy
Hi Myboy
Welcome to our community, I hope you find it both informative and supportive.
I am Steve, one of the community champions and my experience of cancer is via my wife who has Leiomyosarcoma which is also a rare form of cancer. Janice's cancer is not curable but is currently stable and has been that way for over 10 years.
Testing and waiting for results is a very challenging time as we have some tips on that here. I also find the information in Your feelings when someone has cancer quite helpful in being able to recognize there emotions and accept them a normal and valid can help make them a little less overwhelming.
You talk of your boy having a family of his own, I wonder if he has seen talking to children and teenagers, our son is 21 now but has been living alongside cancer since he was quite young.
<<hugs>>
Steve
