Hi I am new on here, I am trying to support my husband and adult children through this shock diagnosis and wandered how every else on here copes!
Hi Hillend75
Welcome to the family and friends, I am Steve one of the community champions. My wife has Leiomyosarcoma but at least for now it is stable.
I really struggled at times in the past, I find lots of the information in your feelings when someone has cancer quite helpful in being able to recognize the emotions and accept them as valid can help to make them less overwhelming.
I did a living with less stress course with Maggies that I found really helpful. The bit about living in the here was especially useful. One useful quote is the yesterday is history, tomorrow is a mystery, today is a gift which I why we call it the present. The conscious breathing techniques we were taught were helpful in dealing with when life decides to throw us a curveball but also in relaxing and getting some sleep.
<<hugs>>
Steve
