My husband has cancer and I’m finding it hard to cope  can you help me

  • Hi

Welcome to our community, I hope you find it both informative and supportive.

I am Steve one of the community champions and my experience of cancer is via my wife who has Leiomyosarcoma - she had two lots of chemotherapy and the second of those managed to render her stable - living with cancer rather than anything else. What type of cancer does your husband have?

There was a really good article on loneliness that you can read here and there is a tool in your area that can help find groups near you - sometimes worth using the hospital postcode too.

  • I feel the same. My husband has just been diagnosed with stage 4 bowel cancer that has spread and I have no way of dealing with this. It’s so hard to process it and see them deteriorate and not be able to do anything.

sending you love and know you are not alone in this xx

  • Hi Star breaker,

I am so sorry to hear your comment.  Macmillan offers a buddy service where you can access emotional and practical support.  I am one and its not just for people with cancer as far as I know.  you can get referred by calling the Macmillan helpline on  0808 239 21 01

    Hugs

  • Hi

I am so sorry to hear you are feeling this way, and I completely understand where you’re coming from. I am in exactly the same place right now and it’s so lonely. Just coming here and seeing that I am not alone does seem to help sometimes. More than happy to chat if you want to get in touch xxxx
