Hi

I’m new here and hoping I can share my pain with you all and also try to help support you with yours.

My partner has been given months to live, we found out 2 weeks ago and since then I have experienced every emotion. Denial, disbelief, anger, sadness completely lost. Having now had time to process the news, we are planning a whole load of fun experiences and making the most of everyday.
But…. Soon the inevitable is going to happen and I have no clue how to cope.

  • Hi

Welcome to our community, you sum up some of the rational behind us being here so well as indeed in the song Lean on me

The feelings you talk about cover quite nicely in our pages on your feelings when someone has cancer

I ended up doing a living with less stress course that really helped me. Part of the process was about not looking to far ahead as I could easily imagine things that actually turned out not to happen while things I never expected could easily come along - that was when the conscious breathing exercises came in helpful.

Still in my wife's case chemotherapy managed to render her cancer stable and we have now been living with cancer for over 10 years now

  • Hey Steve

Thank you for your words, I know it’s going to help me to be able to share my thoughts with others who understand. At the age of 51 to be experiencing such a sad outlook is difficult to process, all the plans we had now have no meaning.
I will try to take a day at a time and enjoy the now Relaxed

so happy for you and your wife to have won this battle, I’ll keep strong and be inspired by the strength you have both shown.
