Hi,
My dad was diagnosed with skin cancer at Easter and we were told it would be palliative care only in July. He has since had palliative radiotherapy, which the consultant was pleased about in terms of outcome. The consultant agreed he could have immunotherapy a couple of months ago although he’s not had it yet.
It seems like dad has given up hope. He’s becoming weaker and staying bed. He’s had would and lymph node infections, a couple of falls possibly due to low blood pressure and is having increasing toilet troubles. He isn’t eating much (never had when stressed).
We are trying to encourage him but it feels hopeless. I’m also concerned for my mum as she’s in her 80s and doing a lot of caring for him. I don’t live in the same town/part of the country but my sibling is closer and helping with hospital appointments and emergencies.
Has anyone got any advice please?
Thank you
