Hello, I am new to this so hoping someone else may be able to help. My partner has been diagnosed with Adenosquamous Cell which is in the middle of his forehead. A Macmillan Nurse has told us that it is a rare Cancer. He has had a Head and Neck Scan but is waiting for the MDT to contact re Radiotherapy. We are in Surrey and he was told that that the treatment would be at Guildford unfortunately his late wife passed away at Guildford Hospital so he really doesn’t want to go back there. Does anyone know if East Surrey Hospital at Redhill would be able to do the radiotherapy as it is also nearer home. He doesn’t handle illness his or anyone else’s illnesses very well at the best of times. Would this be a primary cancer? Sorry for all the questions I handle things better if I know what I am looking at Thank you

  • Hi  and a very warm welcome to the online community which I hope you'll find is both an informative and supportive place to be.

I'm sorry to read that your partner has recently been diagnosed with adenosquamous cell carcinoma in the middle of his forehead and it's natural for him to worry about having radiotherapy at the same hospital that his late wife passed away at.

His best bet to find out if his radiotherapy treatment can be done at a different hospital would be for him to ring his cancer nurse specialist (CNS), sometimes referred to as a key worker or Macmillan nurse, as they should be able to look into this for him. She can also tell him if this is a primary or secondary cancer.

It would be great if you could put something about your partner's diagnosis and proposed treatment into your profile as it really helps others when replying to you and also when looking for someone on a similar pathway. It also means that you don't have to keep repeating yourself. To do this click on your username and then select 'Profile'. You can amend it at any time and if you're not sure what to write you can take a look at mine by clicking on my username.
