My dad has secondary bone cancer which started in his prostate. He is on hormone therapy treatment, which he's been on for about 2 yrs now. He's feeling absolutely exhausted all of a sudden...this past month. He was always very tired but now can't get out of bed some days. He's convinced it's since he had his last covid jab in Nov. He's had a phone call from his oncologist today. All his bloods are spot on and he's not worried. He told him the tiredness is normal, which we knew, but its getting him down as he's always quite active. He's 81 next week, so old age is obviously playing a part too. Any advice please?
Hello AJT, I am so sorry to hear your dads diagnosis and how it is affecting him, i too have advanced PCa and know how tiredness can really get you down as your oncologist says it is normal, and probably the most common side effect and with the added hit from the covid jab and your dads age, he is having it harder than most. The best way to overcome fatigue is through exercise, but as he has had his covid jab these will have to be light exercises, the side effects of the jab usually last a few weeks so if it is a contributor to his fatigue he may feel a little better soon. take care, Eddie.
