Like everyone else here, this is not somewhere that I ever wanted to be but …..
So here goes, my wife has just been diagnosed with bowel cancer that looks to have spread to the liver and maybe the lungs. We are still waiting for the results of the biopsy to know what happens next
i am the so called ‘strong one’ which is more of my coping mechanism - I have 2 grown up kids who are still at home and also elderly mum/ mother in law.
My dad died of bowel cancer about 4 years ago so and I helped to support my mum through it so, unfortunately, I have too much experience of it
To be honest, I’m sure of what help I’m asking for - it’s more to introduce myself and get some things off my chest i suppose
Hi Ian9999
Welcome to our special club though always slightly sorry to see a new friend here.
The strong bit - I just wish is was easy to do and it is to type - but clearly you are important to quite a few people, as is your wife of course.
Then of course having lost your dad you know some of what you might be facing but of course no two cases are quite the same. It often helps to share though - my wife's cancer is very different Leiomyosarcoma but in her case the cancer was made stable - 10 years now.
<<hugs>>
Steve
