My husband has stage 4 lung cancer that has spread to his liver and eyes.
He’s had immunotherapy, radiotherapy and chemotherapy but has had no treatment for the past 2 months as his oncologist said he’d get him on a trial instead (but that hasn’t happened!)
Today he’s in a lot of pain and can barely stand up. I suggested I take him to A&E but he says he can’t cope with 12-24 hours waiting in a chair in A&E as he’s too sore and needs to keep curled up.
What do people do when someone is basically too sore to be able to do a long wait at A&E?
What’s the best pain relief to give him?
Hi MarieJ welcome to the forum and I am so sorry to hear about how much pain your husband is in . I wonder if it is worth giving the out of hours a call to see if a Dr can come out to see hubby at home instead of him going to hospital if you explained that to them? He needs some insight to take the edge of the pain and thats only going to be achieved by a medical person intervening. Hope you manage to get some relief and soon.
