Hi all my mum 73, has done amazing battling stage 4 Bowel , liver cancer for 6 1/2 years ( only given 10% chance of living 4!)
but now is at home end stage of life and confined to a hospital bed .
we need support to have someone in just in the mornings to help to bed bath her . We tried calling the local council which only said they could help if we rang every morning and they’d see if they could send someone .
We’ve called palliative care team and they will see what they can sort .
Are we supposed to source a carer ourselves and fund it ??
many help/advice would be great
thank you
Hello danjast
I am very sorry to hear that your Mum is now at end stage of life and confined to bed. It must be very hard for you all as a family.
Naturally you need some support with Mum and I hope that the Palliative care team have come back to you with some further support.
I will pop a link below which will take you to some information that you may find helpful, however please do give the Support Line a call if you feel talking it all through would help. They may also be able to look at what may be available in your local area.
