Went to seen my mum today . She’s fighting stomach cancer for the 3rd time in three years. This time it’s spread but thankfully not to any major organs.
It was first diagnosed 6 months after the sudden death of my brother. She’s lost so much weight from being a large lady to now being 7 stone. Today she gave me all her bank details incase my step dad needs help, my dad died years ago of Non-Hodgkin lymphoma. I feel like she’s giving up and feel so lost. I don’t have any siblings to turn to.
she’s watched her first husband, son and three brothers go and seems to be to tried to fight anymore. I want to say it’s ok but she’s my mum and of course I can’t .
I’m sorry I just needed to get it if my chest.
Hi Smuf and welcome to our community though so sorry to hear about your mum and everything she has been through and to have lost your dad too.
Feeling lost is quite normal in these circumstances, glad you found us though and of course if you have any technical questions you can direct them to our Ask a Nurse
Losing your brother suddenly at finding out about your mum seems really tough, I think just about anyone might crumble at that but somehow we find the strength to go on, bet your mum is proud of your for that.
No need to apologise on here though, it is definitely good to share.
<<hugs>>
Steve
