Hi , I've just joined the forum and wondered if anyone has experience of palliative radiotherapy offered in end of life care ?
My sister is now deemed to be terminal with Grade 4 Uterine cancer.
She previously had 7 treatments of radiotherapy and now has been offered 1 more treatment.
I can only assume this is to assist her pain level working alongside morphine.
Any thoughts or feedback would be very much appreciated.
My mum has been offered palliative radiotherapy for her secondary bone cancer to help with pain relief. She is reluctant to go through with it due to the pain she is in (pain meds still not enough so it's swaying her decision I think).
Oncologist said it may help, with some short-term side effects such as inflammation and sore skin.
To me it's worth having it if it's offered, but I cannot imagine what the pain is like for my mum or how she is feeling. She just wants it all to end. I don't want to push her to do something she doesn't want to do and make her more upset.
To me, less pain is better, but she is of a totally different mindset.
