We are awaiting final investigations for the colo-rectal cancer that my daughter is considered to have. She still needs the endoscopy and colonoscopy but all notes are headed with CR a cancer. She is speaking to the consultant on Tuesday. I am beyond misery. She has a seven year old little boy and a happy marriage and she is terribly afraid. All I can do is be here for her and try to share my strength , but it is so hard to see her like this. She looks very poorly but we are trying to take it step by step. Just wanted to share my heavy heart with someone.
What a worry for you! Colon cancer is very treatable especially if it’s found early. I had Stage 3 colon cancer fourteen years ago and it was treated with surgery and chemo. I had ignored symptoms for too long so it wasn’t found early!
The shock of a cancer diagnosis takes you to the worst case scenario but there will be a treatment plan for her. Once you know what that is, it will get easier! The Bowel Cancer Group is great with lots of support and really positive stories of people who have been successfully treated.
Good luck!
Jac
