My first time posting here.

my mum was diagnosed August this year with secondary breast cancer, in liver and bones, she had 14 x chemo and this floored her, her Onc suggested two weeks off then onto another line of treatment, she had 1 go of this treatment and her bloods have not been right since, she has had no treatment  for 3 weeks, and in the last week she has gone downhill fast, sleeping all the time, she is to go back this week for more bloods to see what treatment if/can come next but she has completely given up,she thinks it’s the end for her and I feel so helpless.

does anyone have any experience of this?

  • Hi, my mum got diagnosed with SBC in August/September too, also in liver and bones. We found out a few days before Christmas that the first line of treatment wasn’t working so she is starting chemo next week. I also feel completely helpless and don’t know how to deal with it. My mum is such a fighter but seeing her so upset and shocked by the results has sent me into a horrible place. Please feel free to reach out for support, I know how lonely it feels when you feel like you’re the only one going through it.

  • Thank you for replying and I am so sorry to hear about your mum. My mum is also a fighter  but this has floored her and I can see her giving up.

We are a close family and my sister and I are trying our best to remain positive for mum and dad but it’s hard.

if you ever need to talk feel free to reach out.

sending love and luck to your mum on her next treatment line.

    xx
