Hi everyone I’m 18 years old, my boyfriend 19 years old is going through chemo at the moment to help his lung cancer never knew it was lung cancer at first until a lot of testing had been done now the doctors have said he’s got less or 5 years to live and I really don’t know how to cope with this let alone even come to terms with it it’s been a tough road so far
how do I find local family cancer support groups in my area ?
Hi Abfg
Sorry to hear about your boyfriend and the worry this has brought to you both. I know in general cancer survival statistics are generally given as "chance of survival for 5 years or more" and the reason for this is after that time it can be more difficult to know if someone died as a result of cancer or something else.
Well done for coming here though, we have a service on the main site "in your area" that should be able to help - and remember you can always ring the helpline here - 0808 808 0000 open 7 days a week from 8am to 8pm.
<<hugs>>
Steve
