thankfully I don’t have cancer but sadly my farther who is 67 year old has just discovered that he has bowel cancer and in around 4 week he’s getting a full scan to see how much it has spread, I do wish it was sooner. Our family just need that support as I’m also struggling with being unemployed due to my learning difficulties, the cost of living and so many more issues.
we of course all cried when we got the news but let’s just hope that he gets through it. It’s just frustrating how it came out of nowhere but I am thankful it is after Covid.
Hi Me1648
Sorry to hear about your dad but would be quite happy to hear it had been discovered early.
We do hear a lot about early treatment being most successful - that is true but is mostly about getting people to talk to their GP in the first place - your dad sounds like he is on a fairly standard track and that is often less of a concern that when the oncology team are doing things really quickly. Sometimes of course really quickly happens just because of a cancellation so reading much into anything rapidly becomes a nightmare.
<<hugs>>
Steve
