My mum on strong pain meds and is really drowsy and tired, yet extremely restless and anxious.
She can't focus on anything i.e. reading, watching films, etc.
Does anyone has any suggestions or advice I can do to help her through this?
Thanks
K xx
Hi
If might help to talk to a pharmacist and the oncology team to see if there is a way of adjusting or even changing the medication to get the benefit needed but decrease the less desirable side effects. Not all drugs agree with every patient.
While much more mild I had a issue with hayfever some time ago and was prescribed some medication that ended up making me feel really quite unwell. I noted that it was possible to take half doses though and after discussion decided to try that and the result was very little in the way of hayfever symptoms and none of the side effects.
