My dad has stage 4 lung cancer it’s growing so fast the blood vessels can’t keep up he’s so poorly he has lost half his body weight his feeding tube isn’t working. They are trying radiotherapy but it’s still growing bigger than the area they are treating.
I do t know how I feel I can’t imagine him not being in my life but I know he’ll be gone soon.
Hi @moony,
It may seem a bit trite but I know for me my dad is still in my life - he died in 2013 but I aim to uphold the values he taught me and the example he set me. He came so far in his life, the son of a coal miner he joined the RAF first as a batman but rising to be flight sergeant mess manager and then when he left the forces the steward of a local social club.
When we are in the midst of treatment and seeing our loved ones so ill it can be hard to remember all the very many good things they achieved.
<<hugs>>
Steve
Sending you big virtual hugs. It is difficult to imagine what life will be like afterwards, infact, the thought can be unbearable. You don't need to feel or act in any parrocular way, the situation is awful and upsetting. I hope your dad remains comfortable and if you want to chat on here at any point I'm happy to listen
