Hi - have joined the forums today as I am completely at my wits end.
My husband was diagnosed with skin cancer in July. He had an operation to remove a tumour on the 12 August. He was told he had the least aggressive form of squamous cell cancer but following a recent hospital appointment on 29 September he was sent a letter entitled poorly differentiated squamous cell cancer. The letter contained mistakes i.e that the skin graft has taken 100%. he was also told that he had had a deep cancer which had reached fatty tissue. My husband attended a second appointment on 19 November. The only additional treatment he has received is a scan of his lymph nodes. Despite repeated attempts we have been unable to contact the hospital to confirm the grade or type of the SCC.
Could anyone please advise if poorly differentiated SCC is diagnosed what additional treatment is carried out on top of the operation?
I am finding it so difficult to deal with the situation. We have only just retired and were looking forward to a happy time together. I have developed psoriasis and am grinding my teeth so much that I need a guard at night. I cannot sleep. I registered with the forums this morning as I feel so depressed.
