Hey everyone,
My Dad was diagnosed with Pancreatic Cancer in May 2020. Despite surgery and chemotherapy, we have recently been told it has spread and is now Stage IV. Any further treatment will be to prolong rather than cure.
Being 27, I’m finding the journey of having a terminally ill parent quite lonely. I wanted to connect with others who were young and going through a similar situation. I’m struggling to find any appropriate support groups in my area (South West UK).
Please reach out if you are going through similar and willing to share experiences.
thank you.
Hi
Sorry to hear about your dad and sorry to that I do not really match your profile - my wife with the cancer and I am 61 so pretty far apart really.
When I read your post though I did wonder if you had spotted the "in your area" tool where you can enter a postcode and find all sorts of groups (it sometimes helps to enter the hospital postcode too if they are not that close.
You are also welcome to ring the helpline here who may be able to point you more directly at support close to you.
<<hugs>>
Steve
Hi fizzylemon88,
Although I’m not at the stage you are with your dad. I too am struggling to cope/understand/express with my dads diagnosis.
He hasn’t been staged yet and is still going through testing to see what treatment option are available. I’m 30 and from the West Midlands so of a similar age if you did want a chat
Whatever cancer throws your way, we’re right there with you.
We’re here to provide physical, financial and emotional support.
