Hello and welcome to the community, although sorry to hear about your dad and how it is affecting your son.. We found ourselves in a similar, but not quite the same situation. Our grandson was about the same age and did not cope very well. We found that talking to the school helped. The school had a specialist counsellor for such things and it really helped. It's not a magic fix, but did help for him to understand. Maybe a place to start for you. I hope all goes well. Best wishes.
