Hi all. This is my Brothers diagnosis...

  • Hi Lifelover1

Thank you for joining the forum, and for sharing your Brother's diagnosis, this must have been a terrible shock for you both, can you tell us when he received his diagnosis?

By looking at the picture you have posted, it seems that chemotherapy is the first line of treatment for your brother, has he heard anymore about that?

Although this is a very difficult time for you, I want to try to steer you mind away from the negatives of the word palliative, when I first heard that word in relation to my husbands diagnosis, I thought that everything negative was immanent and that I would soon be widowed, I was very wrong and the palliative treatment is working very well.  Although a different cancer to that which you brother has been diagnosed, he also had secondaries, 17 months later he is fighting back.

This information HERE which gives more information of neuroendocrine tumours may be helpful

I hope you have a good support network around you, for both your brother and yourself. I wish him every success with his treatment,

    Lowe'

  • Hi

    Thank you for your response.

He had the Hospital two days ago to give then the decision about Chemo. He has chosen not to have this.

He has been given 6 months without treatment and possibly a couple months more with treatment but some of that spent ill.

His Cancer has spread so much from July-August that it is obviously very aggressive. He has the small cell and non smell cell. It's already in his liver, Pancreas, bones and Lymph Nodes.

I'm glad your Husband is doing well after 17 months.

I have a feeling my Brother wont be here much passed Xmas.
