I'm struggling to deal with mums continuous health failures and her cancer has spread from lungs to liver to lymph nodes and two days ago has a tumour in her neck. How much more can she go through. Mum was diagnosed in Oct last year and retired in the Dec. She is only 66 and she has just lost her older sister and her brother has terminal cancer and has weeks to live. I have been on the sick for 4 months and now my employer is stating I need to go back. I'm in turmoil.
Does anyone have any guidance on how to carryon being strong?
Hi Tammy I'm so sorry to hear this news, I am going through similar to you, my mum. Found out she had lung cancer in Feb, had an op and told it was all clear , had chemo and the in spetember we got the news the cancer had spread to her liver , she started her chemo and immu a week ago and has now ended up in hospital with pain which they haven't sorted out yet , doctors don't work on a weekend apparently and scans can't happen. I have been off work for 4 weeks now , my mental state is not good but I'm trying to be so strong for my mum and Dad who's in bits , I am consumed every day by it , feel so helpless. My doctor has been so good and work also , can you get a sick note from your doctor and also have you been offered any counselling or therapy which for some may help. I send all my love to you and I'm here to chat anytime
Julie xx
