Hi,
my brother has prostrate cancer, which until recently was under control with regular hormone injections. But he had a PET scan at the beginning of July which revealed it has spread to the lymph nodes in his stomach and chest. It took two months for the consultant to give him this news. I feel very angry about that. So he’s now finally started chemo just over a week ago. He’s very up and down in his moods. Last night he was despairing as good tastes awful. Any tips welcome! Also I live two hours away and he’s alone going through this. I call him daily and our other brother lives 15 miles away. He visits weekly. He does have good neighbours but they’re all older than him (he’s 69) and I don’t think he’d put on them. I feel very helpless living so far away. I can’t visit any more than every few weeks as I have a family who still heavily rely on me.
Sorry to hear about your brother... all u can do is continue what your doing my dad has terminal advanced prostate cancer... I know how u feel about wishing you could do more... but all we can do is be on the other end of the phone for them. Your brother knows u would be there if u could... sending you all my love nd thoughts xx
