Hi all,

my sister in uk has terminal metastatic breast that has spread to several parts of the body and is now having repeated blood transfusions.

Both of us are staying positive But My common sense of the situation is 100% knowing that time may be a minimum given her symptoms.

My sister (only sister) doesn’t talk about it so all I can do is be here for when and if she decides to. I’ve tried to tell her that she doesn’t have to protect me but don’t want to push it.

i don’t know wether she has 1 week, 1 month, 6 months, be the last Christmas  or what. I live in Scotland so she is a good few miles and hours away from her but she has 2 sons.

my heart says she’s not got long but don’t want to dampen her positive outlook and be brave enough to ask her as she just says she good.

What happens and what signs when her body does give in?

will she just collapse one day and go down super quick I wonder?

im sure there’s hundreds in my position.

just have to keep being there....

  • Hi Karol 1970 welcome to the forum and I am so very sorry to hear about  what is happening for you and your family.

I think that you are doing all that you can as you have said yourself just by "being there "for your sister and her family and she knows this and sometimes that's all any of us can do.  Who knows when the end may come it could be a long way off yet as I imagine that sh she may be having some form of treatment to keep her stable I imagine and also keep her as well as she can be for as long as she can be.

Just keep being there for you sister as when she allows you to do that and she will talk as and wen she wants to with you. xxx
