Absolutely devastated to be writing this. My 91 year old nanna who is my absolute world has just been diagnosed yesterday with ovarian cancer. Feel like my world has literally collapsed around me. I've never had to deal with cancer before and struggling with the thought of watching her get worse. Just don't know how to cope. All I've done since finding out yesterday is cry. I've not even left my bed yet and it's almost lunchtime any advice massively appreciated xx

Your reaction shows you are just totally normal, you might like to look at Your feelings when someone has cancer to see quite how normal you are.
What I know I had to learn was how to cope with my emotions - and sometimes I cry, it is just now I regard this as love overflowing from my eyes.
Something we often hear on here too is that the patient appears to be coping with the diagnosis seemingly better than everyone else, often we see this as a kind of pre-grief and it does really help to share with people who understand.
