Hello all,
My Mum was diagnosed with Lung cancer at the beginning of March. After a biopsy a lung specialist told her it was stage 3, but a PET and C/T scan were needed to see if it had spread to the brain. Both scans have been carried out now and we're just waiting for a call/appointment.
My Mum isn't sure what questions to ask the Dr, my brother and I aren't much help. I was hoping that some of you might share what you thought were useful questions or questions you thought you should have asked, because other than "how long will my Mum live, what side effects of the treatment can we expect?" We are at a loss.
Anything help, any advice at all will be gratefully received.
Thank you in advance

Hi @claireE21 and welcome to the community though sorry to hear about your mum.
The question of "how long" can be a really tricky one - my wife certainly never wanted to know - at best it is an educated guess given averages - it is something that cannot be put back in box once said too.
As for questions you might like to ask there are some suggestions here that might help.
<<hugs>>
Steve
Thank you for responding Steve, we don't want to ask any questions without her giving us the OK 1st, Mum has been the one talking about this, it's clearly a worry. But you're right it's not one size fits all. I've told her what you'd said which seems to have eased her mind for now. I am sorry about your Wife, and I hope you are doing okay yourself.
Thank you again for your reply
