My lovely Dad at almost 88 has fought bowel cancer 17 years ago then developed prostate cancer 4/5 years ago. He also has very poor mobility. Until the weekend he was at home all be it with a hospital bed and increasing levels of very powerful painkillers. Over the weekend he worsened alarmingly - not eating (his appetite went a number of months ago) and vomiting brown liquid (nit coffee grains) with excruciating stomach pain. He was admitted to hospital where he is now on a syringe driver and catheter. He seems very peaceful and is certainly lucid but sleeps a lot. I go in every day (only me due to covid restrictions) and I find it just heartbreaking to see this strong, kind, funny man in this state of limbo
