Mum was diagnosed with MDS Christmas eve 2019 and then 4 weeks ago was told she had leukemia cells in bone marrow.
Since diagnosis she has spent approx 4 months of this year in hospital.
On Thursday she was allowed to come home. She had to have platlete and blood transfusions on the Monday Wednesday and Thursday and then came home about 4pm.She has to go back on Monday for another one. She is so tired and sleeps alot but then will perk up for short periods.Im terrified they nay say its not worth giving them anymore.
I thought I was coping well but when I went to see her yesterday and she said to me "I'm sorry" I just couldn't cope and my emotions are all over the place and can't stop crying
Hi
I haven't been in your position, as I was the one with cancer, but I can imagine that it's very hard when you see someone you love struggling so it's perfectly normal to feel like you do.
I wondered if you'd had a chance to look through the information from Macmillan that I linked you to recently, which gives help on how to cope? It might be an idea to speak to your GP to see if he/she can arrange for you to have some counselling.
