It's been a while since I posted anything on here. My wife went through her radiotherapy at the height of the lockdown so that was difficult.
We found out last week that the radiotherapy on her tongue and neck did not work for her. So we are now being referred to Royal Marsden for possible surgery. They are saying it would be best there as she an underlining lung condition, so she need to be close to the ILD team at Royal Brompton.
She has already had the neck biopsy done at our local hospital and having a tongue biopsy at Queen Victoria in East Grinstead tomorrow.
Very scary times for us both there is very real possibility that due to her lung condition and low immune system that she won't be suitable for surgery. I am struggling with how to help her keep her spirits up she is so down and in so much pain, breaks my heart to see her like this.
Hi sorry to read this, I can understand how difficult this must be. Having to make a decision around the surgery given the other health issues too is difficult at the best of times. One thing that is sometimes said on here is "when you do not know what to say, give a hug". Sometimes just a reassuring touch can say a million times more that words ever could.
<<hugs>>
