Hi, so my daughter-in-law has had her radical hysterectomy and is recovering at home. We now await the full diagnosis and analyses  from the pathologists to see if we can get on with our lives or there is further cause for concern and more treatment is needed. It all depends on what type of cancer cells, squamous or adenocacinoma.  If the former, then we are all good and can move forward, if the latter we are in deep do do. When i say we, i know this is happening to my daughter-in-law and son (and their 8 mth old baby boy!) but the WE, is me as mum, my partner, my daughter and her husband and children, my daughter-in-law’s mum and dad, her sister and her children and husband and it goes on and on.  This is a ‘Family’ illness as it hurts us all, some more some less, but the reach is so widespread and from that the love and support is overwhelming.  WE, the bigger family, are scared shitless for the results on Friday.  I’m sure this is familiar to the community here and that’s why i wanted to share our story so far.  Love and hope, that’s all there is.

  • Hi ,

thank you for sharing this, you are so right about the way the worry travels around family, friends and all the rest; we often refer to is as a tsunami. Fingers crossed for your d-i-l that either no treatment is needed or whatever next if the last step needed.

    <<hugs>>
