Hi all,

I am supporting my Dad through Rchop (chemo) for blood cancer (non Hodgkin’s).

mid way through treatment and my dad is really tired and weak. The next few months feel like a mountain!
I am wondering if there’s any recommended vitamins/supplements that will help ease tiredness and chemo symptoms and boost his immune system to work alongside his chemo.

  • Hi Abi  and a warm welcome to the Community although I don’t normally post in this group but noticed your post.

I am Mike and I help out around our various Lymphoma groups.

For some context….. I was officially diagnosed way back in 1999 at 44…… although I now realise I had most likely been living with with my rare (8 in a million) incurable but treatable type of Skin (Cutaneous) T-Cell Lymphoma (a type of slow growing Low-grade non-Hodgkin lymphoma) ……. for much longer.

I eventually reached Stage 4a in late 2013 when a second, also rare (4 in a million) type of aggressive Peripheral T-cell lymphoma not otherwise specified (PTCL-NOS) (a type of fast growing High-grade non-Hodgkin lymphoma) was then presenting so although my Lymphoma ‘type’ may be different from your dad’s I most definitely appreciate the challenges of this journey rather well.

I had 6 cycles of R-EPOCH…… the big brother of R-CHOP and how your dad is feeling is unfortunately normal. He does need to highlight this to his team as they can help him out but the main tool is a good healthy diet with lots of protein.

You may want to join our dedicated……

        General Non Hodgkin's Lymphoma

    ……. support group

Joining this group will connect with others who have been through this treatment or have supported family on this treatment.

  • Hi Mike,

Thanks so much reaching out and replying. I really appreciate it.

I’ll join the non Hodgkin’s support group.

Sounds like the right place to be!
