I don’t really know how this works but I’ll lay it all out and see what comes of it.... my dad was diagnosed with a grade 4 brain tumour and told he had 6-12 months...fast forward 3 years and we found out he has another only this time he’s too poorly to biopsy or remove so he’s had constant chemo and radiotherapy for 6 wks but his symptoms progressed and today we got the expected but still shocking news nothing is working and they don’t expect more than 2 months from him. The doctor even said he’d be surprised if he made it to his next appointment in 4 weeks.
He lives with my mum who is technically his carer but as he’s over 6 foot and lost all capabilities and she is just 5 foot and suffers with M&S and other ailments so very frail you can imagine the position they’re in.
the doctor at The Christie said he should be moved into a hospice but we don’t have any clue where to start, who does what, what the rules are, how long does he go for and so many other things. Any advice would be greatly appreciated! xx
