my mum is very ill in hospital. She has been diagnosed with a mass In her pelvis that is cancer and has had a biopsy and we believe it to be ovarian cancer. We are awaiting the results of the biopsy to confirm and then she can begin treatment. There is also a shadow on her breast that is being investigated. There is just me and my dad and we are trying to be strong but struggling as we hate seeing her in pain. She is also really struggling coming to terms with it all and is very up and down as I’m sure everyone can imagine. I’m 28 and very close to my mum, we are like sisters, and I’m struggling with the fact that at the moment and for a while at least she is not going to be able to fix my problems or be there for me emotionally. I’m not sure how I am supposed to feel as other members of my family tell me not to worry and to cheer up so I feel guilty all the time for being upset and feeling sad. Am I being selfish?
