Hi
I am new to this group as recently I have been struggling as my Dad has cancer of the oesophagus, he was diagnosed last July , it's not curable but it is treatable. But In the last few weeks he has taken a turn for the worse and its so upsetting to see as I feel so helpless and I'm trying to stay strong for my Mum.
How do other people cope with this?
Hi Kpondy,
I have been trying to take some of the pressure off my dad who is caring for my mum, sometimes this means being in the house with both of them, sometimes being in the house so he can get out and sometimes taking him out and seeing if someone else either friend or family can support her,
She will be needing time away from feeling like a carer and he will want some time feeling less like a patient.
Not sure if that helps at all, but its how I am trying to make myself useful
