My dad was diagnosed with lung cancer and I’m really struggling emotionally

I am sorry to hear about your dad unfortunately I am going through the same thing with my mum.

It is such a shock. Have you spoken to anyone about it yet? I have only told a couple of friends as there's not much to discuss as there are no treatment options for her. Have you spoken to the doctors your dad's treatment options yet? How is he doing? 

I think we feel helpless but actually being there for them is helping even if not talking about it. My mum is quiet strong but she cried the other day and I couldn't even really say anything but she just needed someone to listen so that was ok. You could talk to him see how he think you can help.
